Overview of the Pokémon-Themed Kyoto Sweets “Pokémon Kyogashi”
In Japan, the long-established Kyoto confectionery brand Shichijo Kanshundo, founded in 1865 (Keiō 1), will release its new product series “Pokémon Kyogashi” on October 25.
These traditional Japanese sweets inspired by Pokémon have previously been available only in limited quantities and for limited periods, but this time, they will become part of the shop’s regular lineup.
In addition to the in-store release on October 25, online sales will begin earlier, on October 20.
The lineup includes three varieties: Pokémon Jōnamagashi (high-grade fresh confections), Pokémon Fuyaki (baked wheat wafers), and Pokémon Higashi (dry sweets).
These items will be available at four stores: Kyoto Main Shop, Kitasenju Marui Store, JR Kyoto Isetan Store, and Fushimi Otesuji Store.
Notably, the room-temperature version of the Pokémon Jōnamagashi will be sold only at the Kyoto Main Shop and only on the 7th day of each month.
Combining the refined artistry of Kyoto confectionery with the charming world of Pokémon, these sweets are expected to become a must-have item for both fans of traditional Japanese culture and Pokémon enthusiasts alike.
